About
I hold the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Theology from the Melbourne College of Divinity
- Graduate Diploma of Arts (Civil Ceremonies) from Monash University
And have received the following awards from my peers
- Winner of the Civil Celebrants Graduate Association Award for the best ceremony written by graduating student (2004)
- 2009 Judy Watt Award in recognition of a significant contribution to the continuing development of the Civil Celebrants Graduate Association
I am a committee member of:
The Civil Celebrants Graduate Association
I adhere to:
The Australian Code of Practice for Marriage Celebrants
However – the best qualification I bring my practice as a Celebrant is a lifetime of immersion in family life! A lifetime that includes the raising of a family, and now the delight of grandchildren; of voluntary participation in many community initiatives such as “Meals on Wheels”; feminist initiatives within the life of the Christian church; and, in recent years with Very Special Kids – a wonderful organisation that supports families of children with life-threatening illnesses.
As well, I am a long-standing member of the Ashton-Smith Singers, part of the 2nd alto line-up! I balance all this with a passion for swimming. I’m a member of the Malvern Marlins and, time and ceremonies permitting, have been known to swim competitively.
